The establishment of Lord Buddha Educational Academy Ltd (LBEA) was driven by a mission to contribute to the advancement of the nation’s medical sector. Collaborating with a group of distinguished entrepreneurs, medical professionals, educators, and respected individuals within the community, the academy aimed to fulfill its social responsibility. This collective effort led to the inception of “Nepalgunj Medical College” in the year 1996. The college embarked on its journey by commencing the MBBS program in 1997, followed by the Nursing program in 2000, and subsequently introducing Postgraduate MD/MS courses in 2007.
Nepalgunj Medical College (NGMC) stands as a testament to its accreditation from esteemed medical councils such as the Nepal Medical Council, Medical Council of India, Sri Lanka, and the Medical Councils of SAARC nations and other countries. Furthermore, the institution is listed in the reputable “World Directory of Medical Schools” under WHO. This recognition positions NGMC graduates to participate in the USMLE and PLAB tests, enabling them to pursue medical careers in the United States and the United Kingdom. The college aligns its curriculum with the guidelines set forth by Kathmandu University, ensuring a comprehensive and rigorous academic framework.
To bolster its educational endeavors, the college has established two well-equipped teaching hospitals in key locations within the Banke district. These hospitals are the 750-bedded Teaching Hospital located in Kohalpur and the 250-bedded hospital situated in Nepalgunj. Both institutions play a pivotal role in providing practical training and experiential learning opportunities to students. They serve as valuable platforms for students to apply theoretical knowledge into real-world medical scenarios, enabling them to develop critical skills and competencies required for their future medical careers.
The motto of NGMC is “Achieving Excellence in Medical Education.” The college boasts an abundant pool of skilled human resources and state-of-the-art facilities, including advanced equipment. In every department, a team of well-qualified and proficient professionals is present.
